Getting to Portofino

Trains

We recommend taking the train to and from Portofino. From Milan there are two trains, the first is an hour with a connection to second train of two hours.

Rental Cars

You won't need a car for the weekend's activities! However, if you'd like to drive to/from the Portofino area, please note that an international driver's license is required to drive in Italy.

If you do choose to rent a car, there are multiple parking lots nearby (~20 euro per day). Be sure to bring cash or a contactless card for toll roads (~10 euro each way from Milan to Portofino).

Shuttles in Town

There are very nice public shuttles that come every few minutes and take you from Portofino to Santa Margherita and back for one or two euros (cash and card/ApplePay). It is also walkable but can take 30min to an hour to walk.
